Rest In Peace
You were a beautiful and stout mare
And sure contributed your share
Of love and compassion
In your very own way and fashion
Three beautiful colts you’ve raised
And how much you were praised
For being grandma to our bottle baby
You were such a great lady!
And sure contributed your share
Of love and compassion
In your very own way and fashion
Three beautiful colts you’ve raised
And how much you were praised
For being grandma to our bottle baby
You were such a great lady!
You grew old in the last couple years
And today I was in tears
When you crossed the rainbow bridge
But for your personality so full and rich
Of tender loving care
You sure will be remembered, dear old mare!
And today I was in tears
When you crossed the rainbow bridge
But for your personality so full and rich
Of tender loving care
You sure will be remembered, dear old mare!
Sandy was most likely not broken to ride but she sure has nice movements and knows how to carry herself. She was a chunk of a horse, stood almost 15.3 h and had very good feet. She was the dam of Joanne VanBoekle’s great team penning mare that was the winner of the 2002 Open Team Penning at Western Fair as a 3 year old! Another filly by her won NCHA money! Her foals are known to be cowy and quiet! In the pictures she was over 20 years old. She was getting too old to run around in the pasture and got a little more quiet every year but she sure was a great mare to have around!
