MARES
Mares
Our mares are the cornerstone of our breeding program! They have a superior genetic background, solid conformation and a willing and trainable disposition. We do not breed any mares that are unsound for any other reason than an accident. This is how we strive to produce sound offspring that can stand hard work or training. Some mares turn out to produce below our quality standard and we do cull them from our broodmare band. They get a tune-up under saddle and are sold as riding mounts accoding to their abilities.
Our mares are bred to selected stallions that match their physical appearance and genetic legacy. For each mare we carefully select a stallion with focus on trainability, conformation and genetic background. We breed according to the theories explained in MagicMatchGenetics. We are convinced that our foals will stamp the future!

There are strong sire lines and there are strong dam lines. In this chart only the mare lines are evaluated and the chart will be updated yearly. The strong mare lines will shine through at some point. It does take years to establish a really strong mare band and this is just the beginning! Our young stock is being tested for conformation, soundness, trainability and performance. We only keep the best and cull the rest. Culled mares don't need to be "bad" horses: they just don't stand up to our selection criteria and will be sold open and broke to ride! If we reduce the herd size, we also sell proven broodmares in foal. Mares with an asterix we've sold, but are continuing their lineage.
